River Street Sweets • Savannah’s Candy Kitchen, Savannah’s signature candy franchise, along with parent companies River Street Sweets® and Savannah’s Candy Kitchen are celebrating National Praline Day, Sunday June 24th in a big way by partnering with Kids Cafe. They will donate 10 percent of all praline sales in stores on the 24th, and online for the 22nd-24th to the Kids Cafe program.
Kids Cafe originated in Savannah in 1989, and is designed to provide children at-risk for hunger a nutritious evening meal along with tutoring, homework assistance, and a safe haven. America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia works in collaboration with various non-profits and faith-based organizations at Kids Cafe sites in coastal Georgia to provide tutors, mentors, supervision, and activities for the children.
“Our efforts on National Praline Day last year provided over 17,000 meals to at-risk children and we are so excited to continue those efforts to end childhood hunger again this year,” said Jennifer Strickland, co-founder and co-CEO of RSS•SCK. “We hope our donations help them continue the incredible work they do not only in this community, but nationwide.”
