Learn a new technique – wet-felting – by creating a small fiber vessel. Fiber artist Vogel’s professional background in weaving and graphic design influences her treatment of textile works through a keen sense for composition and line and the haptic aspects of fiber.
Marianne Vogel’s goal as a fiber artist is to echo the sentiment of nature’s geometrical gifts. Working with wool and other fiber, textiles and miscellaneous materials, she creates patterned layers through various techniques—wet-felting wool, slow stitching linen, and beading surfaces. Intrinsic basic shapes and line elements remain constant in her visual language toolbox. She lives and works in Englewood, Florida.
